gorgeous weddings + city settings

We love flipping through our couple's wedding photos as they roll in, and appreciating how unique each experience is here.

We love our neighborhood - its proximity to Downtown, the beautiful historic warehouses, the muted color palettes... and one repeating theme we always adore is when the couples take to the streets to shoot.

Here are a few of our favorite captures.

New paint job, courtesy of Forest For the Trees!

Our West-facing wall got a major upgrade last week when 2 incredible artists made it their canvas as part of the Forest For the Trees art project. Ola Volo and Zach Yarrington created a stunning homage to a phrase that is near and dear to the heart of our building: 'Nothing Good Comes Easy'. Huge thank you to Ola, Zach, and Gage Hamilton, the man behind the Forest.

About FFTT:  Established in 2013, Forest For The Trees is a non-profit project dedicated to the creation of contemporary public art in Portland. The festival brings together local and international artists in a collaborative setting and provides them with the freedom and resources to create artworks in environments that are freely accessible to the local community.

Seismic upgrade

We recently completed a major seismic upgrade on our building, which means we are now fully retrofitted, should that 'big one' ever hit. We also had a new sidewalk poured, built a new deck and bench, and replaced the front wood wall and 'sunken living room floor' while we were at it.

It was a long road to get here, and a challenge to pull off the massive job in the midst of wedding season, but we are proud to share that we have made it through the process!

Junebug weddings feature

This wedding was a big undertaking for our friend S.Major, one of Portland's premier wedding planners and florists. It was clearly well worth all the effort of Stephanie and the rest of the killer crew as you can see from this feature on Junebug!

Stunning pics by The Gemmers.

Union/Pine wedding

Love Wins

'No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice, and family. In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were. As some of the petitioners in these cases demonstrate, marriage embodies a love that may endure even past death. It would misunderstand these men and women to say they disrespect the idea of marriage. Their plea is that they do respect it, respect it so deeply that they seek to find its fulfillment for themselves. Their hope is not to be condemned to live in loneliness, excluded from one of civilization's oldest institutions. They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right.

The judgement of the Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit is reversed.

It is so ordered.'

- Justice Anthony Kennedy

Rock N Roll Bride feature

It is our favorite thing to see how couples take our space and really make it THEIRS, and Lacey and Paco embraced that freedom in such perfect ways. So happy to see this wedding featured a second time - this one on the very cool Rock n Roll Bride.

30 Days of Vendors

Thank you to our friends at Champagne Wedding Coordination for highlighting us on 30 Days of Vendors!

Our favorite quote from the interview :

Champagne: Best tip you have for couples planning their wedding?

Summer: Patrick and I are planning our own wedding right now, so I can speak from that perspective for the first time: take it all in stride. Start early, but don’t stress out about tackling it all right away. Chip a little bit off of the list every few weeks, and have fun with it together. The planning process is a huge bonding experience, so use it as an excuse to practice not stressing out together when you absolutely could be.
